An early November update.

Today I made my own sunflower butter. I don't know why I hadn't thought of this before. The things that I couldn't pinpoint that I didn't love about Sunbutter were realized. Sunbutter has sugar added to it, which I had not noted. While I love the savory, buttery taste of Sunbutter, the sweetness was always odd to me. The sunflower butter I made today (with roasted with no salt sunflower seeds) had all the savory with no sweet. I added about a tablespoon of melted coconut oil just to help out with the consistency and I love it!!

Everything else Paleo has been going very well. I've stopped eating fruit except a serving once or twice a week and dairy is limited to heavy whipping cream in my coffee, which I have taken to drinking again, but hope to eliminate or at least minimize soon (the coffee and the cream). I sometimes still eat raw goat milk cheese too. I've stopped being concerned with my carbs because I just don't consume enough carby things to have them rack up. I can stay between 50-100 grams to satisfy my weight loss needs, but normally I stay below 50. I've been concentrating more on making sure I get enough protein daily. I've started logging my food at fitday.com and it's been really helpful. So far I see to be pretty on par.

I tried pork rinds for the first time the other day. They were so good...for like ten minutes. Then that greasy, processed food feel shrouded me and I felt sick for a few hours. I was thinking that I had just had too many (less than a dozen) and that perhaps just 3-5 would be better. I had three the next day and within ten minutes I again had that greasy mouth feeling. I guess pork rinds are not for me. I'm okay with that. I'm glad I tried them. I will probably use them again as an ingredient instead of a snack (for the crunchy factor) and see if I have the same side effects.

Halloween was thankfully very easy for me. I am not tempted by conventional candy. I decided many months ago that HFCS and partially hydrogenated oils are completely off limits and it doesn't even faze me anymore, odd as that seems. So far I've limited The Girl's candy to one a day and Allergy Boy doesn't care about candy because he's never been allowed to eat it anyway. I'm hoping Thanksgiving and Christmas prove to be as easy, or at least not too hard.

I'm still taking Natural Calm daily and have been slowly increasing my dosage. I've had good results and haven't had any leg pain in over two weeks. It's also helped with sleeping at night. I am working toward 8-9 hours a night. Some nights it's only six hours, but that's a lot better than what I had been doing.

I've also starting doing bodyweight workouts daily again. It feels good to be productive and I can already feel a difference in my muscle composition. It's only Wednesday, but so far, all things considered, the week has been pretty good.
