Day 37

Meal #1 10am
two eggs
sauteed peppers, onions, asparagus, carrots and mushrooms seasoned with pepper and turmeric
two slices of bacon
orange juice



Comments:
This morning I was below my "normal" weight loss again. It gives me encouragement that my weight will continue decreasing and I'll be on a productive weight loss path again. A little loss every week or two feels good. Three months of stagnation didn't. It really validates for me—for now—that Paleo is the way to go. Despite recent circumstances tripping me up a little bit, I really love this lifestyle and don't want to give it up. I can't imagine going back now.

Meal #2 11:45am
salad with:
Romaine and spinach
diced peppers, apples, raw goat's milk cheddar, cucumber
1/2 chicken sausage
bacon fat dressing



Comments:
This may be the best way to eat sausage. I wasn't sold on it before, but I would definitely eat it like this every chance I got. The sweet, juicy apple mixed with the warm bacon fat is so good. (And I say this knowing full well that, for me, the thought of voluntarily ingesting bacon fat sounds utterly revolting.)

Chocolate 2:30pm
one square

Meal #3 6:30pm
grass fed beef hamburger stuffed and topped with mushrooms and onions
steamed broccoli and carrots



Comments:
The "stuffing" didn't work as well as I had hoped, but not bad for a first attempt. It didn't matter though because that meat was so good, I don't think I could have done anything to screw it up.

I'm really digging the extra vegetables I've been eating during meals.

Snack #1 7pm
1/2 apple with almond butter



Comments:
I still love almond butter. I'm still eating it, even if it's in moderation. It's been awhile since I had nuts. I miss them less than I thought I would. After finding my groove again this week, it's been easier to not snack on them. My energy level is back up too. Now I just need to adjust my sleeping and hopefully my mood will readjust as well.

It dawns on me now that I haven't had a smoothie this week either. That wasn't entirely intentional. Maybe I'll have one tomorrow with a meal.

Meal #4 8:45pm
tuna with homemade mayo, dill, celery and onions
pepper and avocado slices
asparagus spears



Comments:
I want to put more food on my plate. I am so hungry. I settled for this though knowing I could have more if I was still hungry.

Meal #5 9:30pm
mini burger
broccoli and carrots
two squares of Black&Greens



Comments:
I was still hungry. Really hungry. At the moment, I've finished everything except the chocolate and I'm still hungry. This is ridiculous. ...Food just is so good though.

hard boiled egg

Comments:
I don't know whether to count this for Thursday or Friday. I was hungry three hours ago and decided just to go to sleep instead. Allergy Boy was sick today though and wanted to sleep without dinner. Now that it's 3:30am, he's awake and hungry...and I'm still hungry. The food sounded better before I started eating it though. I'm eating it anyway because I feel like I need the energy.

I left three pieces of broccoli. I guess I wasn't that hungry after all.
